O This month's competition

WIN Tickets to the Kemble Show

The 34th Gloucestershire Steam & Vintage Extravaganza (widely referred to as the Kemble Show, because of its location) will be the largest ever, with a record entry of over 800 vintage and classic cars. Originally conceived for steam enthusiasts, the show has grown to include a huge array of motorcycles, military vehicles, classic cars, tractors, aircraft, buses, commercial vehicles, traction engines and historic caravans. It is an air show, country fayre and transport rally all rolled into one superb extravaganza. With non-stop live action for three days and special attractions for children, the Gloucestershire Steam & Vintage Extravaganza is one of the UK's best family shows. It takes place at Kemble airfield, near Cirencester, from Friday 1st August to Sunday 3rd August 2008.

Kemble Show

The huge motorcycle display area will contain more than 150 models – surpassing last year’s record entries. There will be motorcycles from England, Italy, Japan, India and the USA with all the great makers represented – Honda, Yamaha, Harley Davidson, Moto Guzzi, HRD, AGS, James, Triumph, Royal Enfield, Rudge, Baker, BMW, Norton, Velocette, BSA, Panther, Francis Barnett, Matchless, Greeves. Launched for 2008, a special feature dedicated to the BSA Bantam.

There are numerous motorcycles and moped of special interest including the 1925 Matador Bradshaw and a 1970s' Yamaha FS1E 49cc limited edition. A single cylinder, 350cc motorcycle, the Matador has been restored recently – with some missing parts taking more than two years to track down. The Yamaha is also fully restored, having not been ridden for 27 years! Plus a Brockhouse Corgi originally designed to be dropped by troops in the war.

Many members of the VMCC (Vintage Motor Cycle Club) will be at the show and numerous large and small clubs regard Kemble one of their most important annual gatherings.

John Grange, the director of the motorcycles section of Gloucestershire Steam & Vintage Extravaganza, says: "Motorcyclists come to the show to meet friends, talk bikes and study the exhibits. They like the show because there are also things to see other than motorbikes."

There will be a vintage bus service to and from Kemble railway station operating during the show and buses will be available across the showground to the Bristol Aero collection. For the bus schedule, please refer to the website www.steamextravagazna.com .
