Clarky’s Corner - February 2012
By: Web Editor
Well, what can I say, other than a huge thank you? The Carole Nash CBG Winter Classic, at Newark Showground, was an amazing success, especially as it was the first ever show and first time at the venue.
The effort put in by all the Mortons staffers who manned the gates for hours in the cold, administered the running of the show, acted as guides and security, manned the stand, the judges, scribes, photographers, tea and coffee makers... you name it... was quite extraordinary and everyone went that extra mile to make it work well. The management should be extremely grateful and not a little proud.
Of course, without the exhibitors, clubs and traders, there would be no show and their general verdict was excellent, likewise the tremendous turnout of enthusiasts who poured through the turnstiles on both days. Thank you all.
Some minor mistakes were made but lessons learned, so rest assured, next year’s CBG Winter Classic will be bigger and better than ever. I hope to see you there again.
