There’s a certain truth in the grumbles we regularly hear that this country of ours manufactures nothing any more.

Clarky’s Corner - November 2011

Indeed for one reason or another most of our heavy industry is now no more, with many of the familiar names either gone completely or at least now owned and based overseas. However, while Triumph has several Asian-based factories, it is still UK-based with two huge factories in Hinckley, and, most importantly, doing very well.

What’s more, its range is being taken seriously the world over and the splendid 675 triple is a challenger in both national and international racing, which of course improves the breed. Only a few weekends ago, no less than eight Triumphs filled the top 10 of the British Supersport result, who would have ever thought that?

Isn’t it nice to be able to wave the ol’ Union Flag now and again!
