Good for Norton
By: Web Editor
I was delighted to see that the new Nortons are finally being delivered. With all the hype and the big ideas which preceded anything in metal, other than the revamped Kenny Dreer bikes which were touted around the shows, I must admit to being rather sceptical and feared for the depositors’ money.
However, it seems I was wrong to have doubted the operation and I am only too pleased to eat my words. I am really looking forward to seeing one – or more – on the road and hearing what they sound like. Under the present circumstances I think they were very brave to have embarked upon such a risky venture, particularly in the UK, where we seem to have to tow every European legislative line that is thrown our way, from working hours to health and safety, not to mention ever increasing overheads. It would have been cheaper perhaps to head for Asia, but then would people have bought into the Norton dream?
Whatever, they did what they did and it looks like it’s worked. Well done Norton, long may you prosper this time.
