Welcome to the first ever Classic Bike Guide Winter Classic Show at Newark Showground. Join me as I take a look around the private entries in the relative calm before the gates were open to the public. When you see the bikes on show, you'll appreciate just how difficult a job the judges had to pick the award winners.
Bikes on show included Ian Grundy's almost perfect CB450 Honda, which took the Best Japanese trophy, along with the likes of Steve Clark's immaculate 760cc Tribsa cafe racer, Maurice Nicholls' breathtaking 500cc Triumph engined Greeves and Ray Bourne's gleaming H2A Kawasaki two stroke triple. These latter three shared the private entry rostrum. Add to that Mark Ward's 1970 Starfire BSA, Trevor Bostock's almost finished 1936 Calthorpe Ivory Major restoration, Greeves Scottish, Moto Guzzi 68cc tiddler, plunger framed BSA Golden Flash, beautifully restored 1958 175cc Ducat Sport and more besides.
There's more to come soon, so keep an eye on the website as I guide you around some of the club and trade entries in due course.
Enjoy, speak to you soon.
