No soul
By: Web Editor
With reference to the letters page in August’s issue and the nonsense of Nigel Stennett-Cox.
The man has no soul, he should stick to the rags that are filled with this foreign stuff and leave us to remember the real world of British bikes and read about them in a magazine we originally started buying because of them. I should in fact now only pay half the subscription because I only read half the content.
I cannot understand what groupies like him see in them, they all look the same and sound the same, they have no character. And as far as his experience with the Goldie and CB72 is concerned, well I laughed out loud. I have been associated with, repaired and rebuilt many Gold Stars, I have also ridden a lot of Hondas including the famous CB72 but for all its buzz it won’t beat a Goldie, perhaps it was a self maintained issue or rider error that caused this debacle? Neither of those which I’ve dabbled with ever dripped oil!
Don’t get me wrong, I fully appreciate the power and performance in the Japanese stuff, I never miss a BSB, WSB or MotoGP race but that is today. I, along with many others, want to be affectionately reminded of yesterday. As far as the list is concerned that Mr Stennett-Cox talks about, I want to be a founder member please.
