Located a few kilometres from the French border, the circuit of Chimay has been established since 1926 as one of continental Europe’s most prestigious routes. The road circuit is, like the Isle of Man TT course, held on public roads and in the 1970s the original track was one of the fastest and most dangerous in the world. A revised circuit is now used.

The Trophée de Motos Classic 25th anniversary event is to take place from July 20-22 and is expected to attract most of the UK’s foremost classic racers. As well as classic solo and sidecar racing there’s a swap meet, bike show, concerts, and more than 450 historic machines grouped together in an open and friendly paddock. Organisers say the presence of the classic racers on the road circuit will re-create the famous ‘Continental Circus’ of
the 1960s and 70s.

Chimay is close to the French border, the nearest airports are Brussels South Charleroi (64km) and Brussels Airport (129km). The circuit itself is located on the northern outskirts of the town. www.circuit.be
