2015 CLASSIC MOTOCROSS des NATIONS

Rider/manufacturers were common pre-WW1 but rare by the 50s, in fact I can’t think of any other than the Rickman brothers in the off-road world.

This year marks the 15th anniversary of the European Classic Motocross Organisation (ECMO).

Since 2000 a European event has been held in the UK just four times. The first, in 2003, was the European championship at Combe Martin in North Devon followed by the Classic Motocross des Nations at the same venue in 2006.

More recently the championship visited Hawkstone Park and Ameys Copse, near Reading, the home of Mortimer Classic MCC.

A tad earlier than usual, on the first weekend in September, the des Nations was back on British soil for event number five which was, arguably, the best of the lot.

And once again it was Mortimer Classic doing the honours, at the tried and tested Ameys Copse, just across the M4 from Reading.
