Dremel 3000

Dremel should be in everyone’s toolkit

The latest kit is the 3000 and what a fantastic combination set it is. It’s the same old principle but with a number of new touches. For example, gone is the old chuck arrangement where a little spanner has to be used, the tools are now secured by a hand operated EZ Twist Nose Cap, which will accommodate tools from 0.8 to 3.2mm diameter. The 130W 3000 has a multi variable speed, from 10,000 to 33,000rpm to suit the job and the material being worked.

Vibration, not that there ever was much to begin with, has further been reduced and the soft grip body offers increased grip and comfort. It weighs in at a comfortable 0.55kg. What’s more included is the very useful and highly versatile flexi-shaft and no less than 25 tool accessories to allow carving, engraving, sharpening, polishing, grinding, cutting, drilling, sanding et al, plus the slick EZ SpeedClic tool onto which a variety of heads can be fitted.
